Sometimes the desire to do something differently grows from a steady rising realisation that staying where you are is starting to cost you more than the uncertainty of moving forward.

When something inside you has shifted, you can’t unsee it. Yet if you feel held in place, there is usually a reason. What makes it hard to move forward, achieve the goal or make the change is rarely a lack of willpower or effort. Often it is fear and self-doubt that limit what feels possible.

You may already have tried the books, podcasts, courses and journalling prompts, perhaps even pushing yourself to feel the fear and do it anyway. If something still keeps getting in the way, it does not mean you are not trying hard enough. It often means there is something beneath the surface that needs understanding and tending to. That is a different kind of work, one that goes deeper than self-help tips or motivation.

The Intentional Growth Path is a four-month 1:1, psychology-informed coaching journey with me, Dr Jo Phillips, HCPC-registered psychologist.

Together, we work at the level where real change happens: clarifying what you are moving towards, understanding and shifting what has been holding you back and supporting you to take values-aligned action, so that the growth you create continues long after our work together ends.

This is the path we take, a journey that responds to your needs and moves at a pace that fits where you are.

  • Getting clear on what you are choosing to move towards in the life you want to be living

    Not what you think you 'should' want, but what genuinely calls to you when you let yourself listen. The change you are ready for, what you want to reconnect with, your values, the goals you want to bring to life, what you want to see flourish and bloom.

  • Understanding what holds you back

    Old beliefs, familiar fears, patterns you learned a long time ago that once kept you safe but now block the path, cloud your clarity or pull you off course. We make sense of these together, because understanding is often the first thing that loosens their hold.

  • Working with what lies beneath

    This is where psychology-informed coaching goes deeper than reflection alone. We work to shift what is stuck and held beneath the surface, creating the conditions for growth and change to take root.

What’s included in The Intentional Growth Path

A four-month 1:1 coaching container for personal growth and development. This is a nurturing space to plant and tend what you are choosing to grow: your intentions, your goals and the changes you want to make. This journey is designed to unfold over four months, giving you time to practise and reflect so that learning and change can strengthen, take root and bloom.

Included in your four-month container:

  • Six 1:1 sessions with Dr Jo, spaced in a way that fits you

  • A welcome pack including a copy of The Intentional Growth Book: Your Guided Journal to Nourish & Flourish

  • Client Hub access with resources to support you between sessions and for one year beyond

  • Optional brief check-in between sessions, when supportive and by agreement

  • Psychologist-led support from Dr Jo Phillips

What is psychology-informed coaching?

Psychology-informed coaching is a collaborative and forward-focused coaching space grounded in psychological expertise and evidence-based practice. We work with protective patterns, your nervous system needs and the inner blocks that can keep you stuck, so you can move towards your goals and create change that lasts beyond our sessions.

I draw on EMDR-informed principles and an IFS-informed parts approach where they are a good fit. This can be especially powerful when you feel held back by the past or pulled off course by fear and self-doubt about the future. It helps you step forward with more understanding, compassion and freedom to be yourself.

Introducing Dr Jo Phillips

Dr Jo is an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, EMDR Europe Accredited Consultant and EMDR-informed Coach. Jo has completed additional training in integrating EMDR and IFS approaches. She is the author of The Intentional Growth Book: Your Guided Journal to Nourish & Flourish (2025), and the founder of Nurture Now.

Jo has a passion for supporting clients who feel held back by fear and long for more freedom to truly be themselves. Through psychology-informed coaching, Jo helps clients create the conditions to thrive their way.
